Did you read the comments?
Yes I read the comments....Anyone putting such anger on a silly opinion needs a trip to Anger Management.
I think a lot of it was due to the extremely defensive attitude people have about the late 1980s. Personally, I preferred the early part of the decade, but I can understand where they are coming from.
Just some self important dick head. No friends, not social life and desperate for attention. Sad mutha****** basically.

Ha-ha-ha... I'm laughing my ass off at the whole deal there.
First this guy writes a satirical essay about the 80's metal scene being gay. He tries to be intelligent and funny and sometimes he suceeds, but on an overall view, at least for me, he fails as it is too obvious and not intelligent enough.
There aren't any new angles to his essay. He starts with the idea of how he's gonna twist metal into being gay (which is funny enough), but there is no build up. Stuff like that works best if you do one of two:
1. You have a mindbending point at the end that no one has thought of before, or...
2. You make sure your arguments gets more and more hilarious as you write, so the slowest of us don't get that it's satirical but by the end it will just be insane
Or a combination of both of course. Here he let the cat out of the bag in the headline and did nothing more with it for the rest of the essay.
If you already kicked someone's balls it makes no sense to give them a soft slap on the cheek afterwards!
Then all these idiots take it seriously and want to defend their music with arguments and comments that are just as bad as the original essay... only difference is that these guys are actually serious and not trying to be funny LOL
Then the dude who wrote the original essay makes an ass of himself trying to defend it and out-intelligent the guy who wrote the comment with what can only be described as lacking arguments.
LOL... When you start writing whole paragraphs stating that a word is spelled wrong you are definitly fucked.... and that goes for both of them.
I just have to laugh... would love to read an essay like that that was actually funny.
<font size="4" face="Arial">Well, I thought the name chosen by the writer was funny. "T. Rex", do ANY of those morons even know who Bolan was? That includes the writer as well.Originally posted by chrisdamien:

The Halford issue is tired and dead. I still laugh at all of the people who were huge Priest fans and spent countless hours calling image bands homosexuals based to that fact alone.
I pretty much agree with your post, and anyone who starts to write entire paragraphs taking the piss on a misspelled word is screwy. I mean, why is it so important? Does it change the esential idiocy of the essay? Granted, not checking your spelling shows a certain lack of thought that can only be overcome by rigourous application! Again, to start a whole paragraph on a misspelled word is most DEFINITELY retrograde and egomaniacal to boot!!
You mean essential?
Sorry Jay, it was too tempting to reply, heehee.
